The open assembly is a format that enables neighbors to get to know each other and take direct action. Be it a common wildflower meadow, traffic calming or environmental protection. There is a lot to do in the neighborhood, lots of great ideas and lots of opportunities. In principle, everyone is invited to open meetings - whether old, young, new, established, resident or homeless. An open assembly in your neighborhood is the first step towards a solidary and resilient neighborhood democracy.

Our democracy is cracked. We experience increasing disenchantment with politics, exclusion, repression and isolation. At the same time, the climate crisis, economic, social and ecological crises require quick collective action. Open neighborhood assemblies create a framework for dealing with these problems holistically, inclusively and locally.

It doesn't matter which street, which part of the city or which neighbourhood: open meetings can take place anywhere. All it takes is a little space and you and your neighbors. You meet as equals, make contacts and get to know the needs of your fellow human beings. This helps you to tackle a holistic neighborhood design. Bit by bit.
